The Tartans are arranged in alphabetical order
and to see all tartans that start with a particular letter, click
on that letter at the top of the left hand tartan list. |
| Each tartan is shown as an extensive bitmap and
by moving the scrolling bars, the pattern can be moved to give the
impression of a larger piece of cloth beneath the window. |
Details given are the name,
type of tartan (also visible in the tartan list), a source
or origin and sometimes a short text note. |
LATEST FEATURE: Detail pages now show Related Tartans Links of tartans sharing a word in their name.

related tartans as separate, scrollable windows to the right
of the Tartan's details.

This facility is very simple: type "bell" then return or click "NOW button".
The results will replace the left hand list and will include Campbell tartans, as it does not just look for full words but also parts of words. Only a single fragment will work.

The tartan currently showing can be used as wallpaper (for private use only) by
- saving it as a png file for later selection
- copying it to the clipboard for capture by a paint program
- or directly, with Internet Explorer, right click option "Set
as Background".
